Scientists say West Antarctica Ice Sheet melting "past point of no return"

The West Antarctica Ice Sheet contains enough water to raise global sea level by 4 feet, and it’s melting. Eric Rignot, author of a joint study released by NASA and the University of California at Irvine, said the increasing meltdown of these glaciers “appears unstoppable.”

That kind of rise in sea level could displace tens of millions of people who live in coastal areas around the world. The only good news is that the melting could take several centuries to complete.

Humanity is facing a huge challenge. We believe technology and innovation can help provide better solutions. That’s why we need to do our part and spread the world about all the ways we can help care for our planet.
